Just got my Team NEGU suit inspired by Jessie Rees from my awesome mom in the mail last night and headed down to Newport pier to pier swim today. I first saw these modeled by my beautiful friend and Olympic swimmer, Kaitlin Sandeno !! She has been an incredible supporter of the cause! Never Ever Give Up! Wearing the suit for the swim made me think of those inspiring words to keep me going! You can get yours at www.hardcoreswim.com . What's better than a cute suit that goes to an incredible cause!

After the swim, I got to see all of my awesome swimming buddies at the finish - great job!  Results are HERE.  I wanted to hang out more but ended up running back, just in time before my parking meter expired! Then I spent a little more time at the beach where I ended up playing a victim role for a rookie lifeguard on duty to make sure he was on his game! I got to put fake blood all over my head and act like I got in a terrible bike accident. The guard did an amazing job, straight from the books! Congrats buddy! =)

In Honor of Michele Fast Daschbach who passed in the Seal Beach salon tragedy in October, 2011, friends and family gathered at her older brother's house in Sunset Beach and swam 3+ miles to the Seal Beach Pier. Over 60 swimmers showed up to first annual event, along with a handful of paddlers, lifeguards, and many spectators. After the swim, the participants were shuttled back to the start on the Big Red (double-decker) Bus where there was a post celebration. Rest in Peace Michele, you are in our hearts forever!

Happy 4th of July!!! To start the day off right, a group of us did a run-swim-run around Naples Island in Long Beach. It actually turned out to be more than running and swimming with a series of dock pull ups, dives, a stop at the Long Beach Yacht Club for a 50 yard sprint and a couple bridge jumpers! Go Red White and Blue! =)

Finally found Anna Carin-Nordin, my Swedish swimming friend, in downtown Long Beach this afternoon! She went to 2nd Place instead of 2nd Street to meet me for a swim! I didn't even know that street existed! Next time I will have to be very specific! Who knew?! haha. After meeting up, we went for a swim around the canals in Naples and then a little trip down to Seal Beach and Huntington Beach to give her a little tour of Southern California! What a kind-hearted, charismatic woman! It was a fun day spent with her! Anna is swimming the Catalina Channel the night of July 2nd coming all the way from Sweden! Good luck Anna!!!

Another beautiful day in the Cayman Islands for the 20th Annual Flowers Sea Swim. What an amazing event once again! Thank you for all of the hard work put into such a well organized event to ALL of the Flowers team! It was fun to be a participant this year! Wonderful seeing all of my friends on the island and from around the world! =) Look forward to next year!

I love to swim in my new stuff from AquaGear! The Engine swedish style goggles come with two different color straps you can switch in and out - especially important to me since I'm all about matching when I swim! =) Unlike typical swedes, they are very comfortable and perfect for an afternoon bay swim with the glare from the sun. The lime green and hot pink silicon cap not only represents my love for the water but made me visible for kayakers, paddlers, and other vessels!  AquaGear has lots of fun prints, styles, brands, and colors to fulfill all of your needs in all areas of aquatic activities!  You can visit their website here --> www.aquagear.com
The checkout process is extremely streamlined, customer service is incredible, shipping is speedy, and great prices! =) I'm thrilled to have discovered this site! Thanks AquaGear!

Great spending time with Martin ("BIG River Man") and Borut Strel today in Long Beach! I look forward to seeing them again here at the Global Open Water Conference in September and hope to make it to their awesome swim camp in Lake Powell! =)
